The Eighth Hour Brand Story
...is always in the making.
Growing up my identity was hard to grow into because it was constantly managed by cultural responsibilities, family and a world that was designed for me, for which I simply did not fit into. When I would start to find parts of myself and learn who I was, I was told to make myself invisible ... be less.
Jewellery was how I coped for the first teenage years of my life. I wore all the colours in my earrings, found comfort in wearing expressive jewellery and makeup.
In 2016, I finally ran from that life. A life of hiding. Minimising. A life of being less than.
I booked a one way ticket and started a new life in the UK.
In 2022, I gave birth to my daughter and experienced PPD and severe sleep deprivation. I thought I was going crazy. Until my husband said "make something with your hands, you love to create and you NEED to create to get through this".
I made jewellery.
In 2025, the Eighth Hour Studio was born and it's a testament that whatever we endure, whatever we go through, our identities are meant to shine bright. To glow.
The jewellery I make is not meant to be ordinary - it's meant to shine bright and remind you every time you wear it, you're truly special.
